Chris Kalafatis

Chris grew up in the Shaker Heights suburb of Cleveland, Ohio.  He graduated from Miami University located in Oxford, Ohio studying business and sociology.  While attending Miami, Chris was a four year Letterman and three years starting Center for the University’s Division I football team.

Shortly after graduation Chris volunteered for the United States Marine Corps Officer Candidate School program and was sworn in as a Marine Corps Infantry Officer in December of 2000.  Chris served nearly 10 years in the Marine Corps, along with his wife, Kathleen Carroll, who is also a Marine.  During this period he held multiple leadership positions during four operational deployments to include Platoon Commander, Company Executive Officer, and Company Commander in both Marine Corps Infantry and Reconnaissance units.  While on active duty, Chris also completed his Master’s in Business Administration from Regis University in Denver Colorado, graduating with honors.

Upon completion of his active duty, Chris was selected into Johnson & Johnson’s Junior Military Officer Program, taking charge in 2010 of a J&J operating division territory in Seattle, Washington.  A few years later Chris’ passion for developing and nurturing strong relationships with his clients led him to an opportunity to become an Ultra High Net-worth Banker with the J. P. Morgan Private Bank in Seattle in 2012.  After developing a robust business at J. P. Morgan and establishing the office’s Healthcare and Lifescience business practice, Chris founded MDK along with his business partners Jaimi Dennehy and Paul Meyer.

Chris, Jaimi, and Paul serve high net-worth and wealthy families and individuals, as well as Family Offices, providing holistic financial services and advice.  Chris’s focus is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs manage successful outcomes and guiding families through multi-generational wealth transfer.

Chris resides with his wife Kathleen Carroll in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, with their three children Sofia, Gus, and Hank, and their two English bulldogs Patsy and Jackie.
